So all you need to do to remain comfortably stuck in your ways, unwilling to change, is to label everything with which you disagree, communism.

Boro Friend, again awesome writing, you're bringing out the Progressive twist as paesano pointed out. You are very correct, there is no middle ground on liberty and freedom. It never fails, when a progressive gets in a corner, accusations get thrown around. It is one of the MO's of a Progressive.

What was lost will be regained in time.

I haven't figured out how to do the quote posting thing yet. That's why it's not here BF, paesano.

If you are logged in, you just hit the quote button next to the person's quote that you want. If you hit reply, then log in and have a text box, then scroll down to the quote you want to include and hit quote.

It's not progressive twist to point out how people use reason to their own ends rather than in a search for truth. You may want to research Rhetoric vs Dialectic.

It was a warning, not a rating. The S&P rating service is concerned that our politicians can't get their act together. On the other hand, they are not saying that our fiscal position is catastrophic.

So, in the context of this thread:
1. People need to find middleground and not play politics with the debt.
2. There is no threat of hyper-inflation, or other kind of economic meltdown
3. The dollar is still fine thank you, and trading within a normal range.

We actually have one advantage currently that we didn't have in the 1980s and that is low-interest rates. At least that makes the debt more manageable.

Alright here are a few observations for what it's worth. The dollar is under a lot of pressure. The biggest problem the dollar faces is the Federal Reserve. We are buying back our own debt and printing and flooding the market place with bogus money in order to keep the economy artificially propped up.This left unchecked causes inflation. That's like stealing our money. The government tells us there is not an inflation problem. When they calculate inflation they do not count food or fuel prices. That is insane. Someone needs to take a good hard look at the Federal Reserve who accounts to no one. Another problem is that government policy supported by both policial parties have shipped our good jobs overseas. We have also over regulated many areas where it is impossible for some businesses to stay in business. We don't make anything here anymore. It is much harder to kick start the economy that way.We need a take a look at all our policies with little time to waste.

Also I was reading where the C.B.O. found this last budget deal to fund the rest of this year was loaded with smoke and mirrors making it look like we are cutting spending that we weren't. . It indicates nothing but hot air coming from the President and Congress . They have not shown any' REAL' willingness to deal with our spending problems. This is what helped trigger the S$P. warning. It has been coming at us like a freight train for some time. Losing our tripple A rating is not a good thing. If they can't fund a half a year budget how are they going to tackle the big problems.

Then there have been reports that China and Russia and some other countries that want to have a different exchange for oil.I really beleive the tie between the American dollar and oil is the one thing that has really saved our bacon. Of course I would be remiss not pointing to the people in this country like that progressive dirtbags who want to over throw the financial system and the government. They are working overtime looking for an opportunity and then turn around to blame it on the banks,wallstreet...

We have a public who would rather not face the truth or think we are Americans so 'it can't happen here' .It is just eaiser that way. We have a few problems that we can't just explain away.
